I'm guessing this is the one you want www.volatilesyn.i8.comThat was recorded 3-4 years ago! I've been doing mostly folk and blues stuff recently, i really need to get another heavy band put together!

No they're all originals!
We recorded in a small recording studio based in Chippenham College, Fully kitted out.
I play drums on Life Injecting Scars (which i wrote) but sing on all tracks, Mat (our live drummer) plays drums on the other two. We were between bass players at the time so Craig the guitarist did the bass lines.
As far as equipment goes we used SM58s and somekind of condenser mic for vocals, for drums (if memory serves right) we used 4 x C418, 2x SM57s, 1 x D112 and 2 x C1000s. Bass was recorded dry staight into desk, Guitar: i think we used condenser along with another mic or two which i can't remember using some big trace elliot stack.
Drums was a rather horrid pearl export, but with my cymbals and pedal, Guitar was an Ibanez 7str, bass was a crappy beaten up warwick.
I actually blew their gating machine up!!! You can hear halfway through KTSII when i go a little bit mental ;D the sound kinda gets a bit muffled, when i walked out of the live room all i could see was smoke! ;D

Unfortunatley we didn't record anything else when we were together, i have an ep i did with a folk band i was in called "the roots band" but its more than likely not your kinda thing.

there was but its probably down, i'll more than likely whack them back up soon though!
I'm not the biggest lover of playing "metal" drumming, i'd rather play folk or bluesy jazz, i like the subtlety and technical aspects that go with the genres.

I've been playing for just over 10 years... Although i haven't played in a couple of months, i just don't have room for my kit and as i'm not in a band at the moment i don't get alot of practice, im considering selling my beloved kit to get a decent electronic setup I've actually been playing guitar since about 92 but i'm still as bad as i was back then!

Well rhythm is the most important, the amount of guitarists i've played with who can hammer fast and use the "guitar wank" face but can only do it completely out of time...

what you say is so true, I think the perfect guitar player (for me) should combine all these aspects, plus the fact that often a huge emphasis on song writting (the riffs) is often layed upon the shoulders of the guitar player.
my all time favorite guitar player is Klaus for his amazing fluid style, with both rythem and solo stuff I think he's spot on plus adds some nice feeling to everything he plays, just fantastic.

couldn't agree more, Klaus has got to be my favorite! Everything he does just seems to be perfect!
his rhythm is tight, never bland and his solo's are fantastic... every note means something and is memorable.
The only guitarist who comes close for me is dimebag... Thats solo in "the sleep" off cbh is my favorite guitar solo ever!
